Jim O'Rourke - Visitor LP

Up for pre-order is the new album by Jim O'Rourke, most known for being part of the legendary Sonic Youth, but also a contributing musician for Wilco, Smog, Thurston Moore, Merzbow, Fennesz, etc. Drag City comments: "The Visitor’ is a seriously all-Jim O’Rourke affair - allthe sounds you hear are Jim and Jim alone. This timeyou can’t blame any of those session dudes and theirbloodless line readings - the chill you’re getting is a onehundredpercent O’Rourke effect. As a matter of fact, itmight be more like two hundred percent — some of ‘TheVisitor’ is tracked so deep, it took two hundred tracks tohold it all. It doesn’t sound like it though - to Jim’scredit, the mix sounds very minimal, very straightforward- not like several hundred tracks at all."
