David Bazan - Curse Your Branches LP

I didn't know the man was going solo, but apparently David Bazan, aka Pedro The Lion is prepping up to release his first full-length on September 1st, the day all the youngins go back to school after an undeserved holiday. Anyway, apparently this album is his "Declaration of Atheism", so with interesting lyrics, I'm sure the music will follow.

From Barsuk "Known for his work fronting the enigmatic rock band Pedro the Lion, David Bazan’s emotionally charged narratives, eye for telling detail, and mournful voice have more in common with J.D. Salinger's "Nine Stories" or Flannery O'Connor's "Wise Blood" than with the usual lyrical slant of popular music. Bazan is a gifted storyteller, weaving parables of spiritual conflict, suburban ennui, and personal surrender into magnetic, well-crafted songs. His debut solo full-length album, curse your branches (out September 1), is a masterwork by a modern American poet (Paste called him one of the "100 best living songwriters" in a piece that followed the release of his solo EP Fewer Moving Parts) at the height of his powers."

Pre-order the LP at http://www.barsuk.com/ and with some luck you'll get it before the September 1 release date.
