Loney, Dear - Citadel Band LP

Not sure if this is still a pre-order or already released, but Polyvinyl have re-released Loney, Dear's sophomore effort entitled "Citadel Band" on vinyl. Originally only available on cdr's, this album is now available on vinyl format, pressed on multiple colours and strictly limited to 1000 copies. I haven't heard this album myself, but given the timeline, I'd say this is probably still the more upbeat side of the swesdish singer-songwriter, who became darker and more melancholic with each record. Definitely worth picking up from Polyvinyl.

Boduf Songs - Inviolate Projection, Blood From Rome (Blankets) 10"

I wrote about the Latitudes LP by Boduf Songs a couple of weeks ago, and now I managed to bump into a killer 10" by England's "Ministrel of Misery". What we have here is a one-sided 10" with a 12 minute track of dark singersongwriter doom/drone. That description doesn't make much sense, but just imagine fragile, whispered vocals on top of some creepy eerie drones and minimal acoustic guitar riffs and you'll get the picture.

This 10" comes in a silk-screened sleeve, and comes on black vinyl, with an incredible etching in pearl ink on the B-side. This is a limited, one-time pressing of only 300 copies worldwide, so I suggest you order from Blue Sanct right away.

Horse Feathers - Cascades 7"

Kill Rock Stars have pre-orders up for the new "Cascades" 7" by Horse Feathers. What we get here are 2 new tracks of fragile singer-songwriter americana with some faint blue grass influences. If it hadn't been for Bon Iver, Horse Feathers would have been all the hype last year, so pre-order this little pearl from KRS and give this a try as well.

Andrew Bird's Bowl Of Fire - The Swimming Hour 2xLP

Andrew Bird's Bowl Of Fire third and last album "The Swimming HourAgain" is now up fore pre-order. Orginally released back in 2001, this somehow never got the vinyl treatment, and thanks to the man's current success, the album has been remastered, has been given an updated artwork and thus is now coming available on 2xLP

"The Swimming Hour" is the last album with his backing band Bowl of Fire. I honestly only know his solo-work, so I'm quite curious to find out how this sounds. Pre-order yours for $19,89 from Insound and you might as well immediately order his Anonanimal See the Enemy 7", sporting 2 reworked tracks from the "Noble Beast" album, but more importantly comes with Aaron Horkey artwork!

Sufjan Stevens - The BQE LP

Sufjan Stevens is back with a new project called "The BQE", a cinematic suite inspired by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and the Hula-Hoop.

Orginally performed 2 years ago live "The BQE" is about everything you can imagine, in the words of Asthmatic Kitty: " ...best described as a grand creative franchise-incorporating movie, symphony, comic book, dissertation, photography, graphic design, and a 3-D Viewmaster® reel-in which a songwriter's interrogation of one of New York's ugliest landmarks expands athletically to forums and formulas outside of the song itself. In fact, the BQE is everything but a song."

Sounds intriguing right? Well, this limited edition vinyl is available as a double gatefold and includes the soundtrack on 180-gram vinyl, a large-scale 32-page booklet with liner notes and photographs, and a black-and-white version of the 40-page Hooper Heroes comic book. Pre-order it for $25 (S&H included) from Asthmatic Kitty
