Washed Out - Feel It All Around 7"

First up today is the pre-order for a new 7" by Washed Out. Now, with summer being gone, leaves colouring and falling and me getting sick for the first time this year, Washed Out aren't exactly any remedy for my pains with their lo-fi fuzzed out synthpop. However, if you want to live in the summer forever, get the "Feel It All Around" 7" now from Pure Groove

Fresh and Onlys - Grey Eyed Girls LP

Fresh and Onlys are the newest band on the Woodsist roster. This SF lo-fi band is prepping up to release their "Grey Eyed Girls" LP, just before their move to In The Red Records.

Fresh and Onlys aren't just another band in the recent wave of lo-fi bands, but are definitely more moody and eerie. Besides, Tim Cohen, who used to be in Black Fiction is frontman of this band, and his solo-work is quite remarkable as well, so give it a shot okay?

As Woodsist are on holiday or so, pre-order yours from Recordstore.co.uk

Kurt Vile - Chilidsh Prodigy LP

Kurt Vile's new album 'Childish Prodigy" is now up for pre-order from Matador Records, due October 6. Kurt Vile is a recent discovery for me, because I aslo only recently discovered his band The War On Drugs. His solo-work as displayed on "Constant Hitmaker" released last year and re-released on thé lo-fi label Woodsist, sees him having as much in common with labelmates Ganglians, Wavves or Woods as with the great american songwriters like Neil Young or Bob Dylan. Recently signed to Matador, home to a diverse mix of bands where Vile will fit in perfectly, the "Chilish Prodigy" album is bound to become a landmark in his career.

So, up for pre-order now from Matador is the "Chilish Prodigy"LP which comes with a free 7" for a total of $18,00. I'm guessing this 7" will be the upcoming "He's Alright" 7", also availabe as seperate pre-order.

Ganglians - Monster Head Room LP + 7"

The "Monster Head Room" LP by Sacramento's Ganglians caught my attention because of the sublime artwork pictured above. And upon checking out their myspace, I quickly turned into a believer. Apparently Ganglians managed to release their first 2 LP's almost simultaneously on Weird Forest / Woodsist Records, home to other breakthrough artists such as Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts, Woods and Wavves to name just a few.

What to expect of Ganglians? Well, most comparisons talk about Brian Wilson on acid, but since I always have the math equation Brian + Wilson = drugs, I'll say yes, there's definitely the Beach Boys vibe in it, but that can also be said of Fleet Foxes. So, for the sake of using modern references, I'd put them somewhere in between early Animal Collective and a dirtier more lo-fi sounding Fleet Foxes, with the psychedelic vibe that Grizzly Bear brings.

Do yourself a favour and pick up both the "Monster Head Room" LP +7" and the "s/t"LP from Boomkat
