Pyramids With Nadja

I've been looking forward to this release for a few months now, so join me and head over to pyramidswithnadja.com for a full stream of the upcoming Pyramids with Nadja LP. The CD version is already up for pre-order over at Hydrahead, no word on an LP release date yet. However, Ulver and Lustmord apparently remixed the first track on this album, "Into the Silent Waves," for a limited 12" to be released early 2010. Stay tuned for more info.

Keelhaul – Keelhaul’s Triumphant Return To Obscurity 2xLP

Ah, how I heart Keelhaul. Ah, how good it is to have them back. After 4 years are so, Keelhaul are finally back with a new album on Hydrahead with the killer title "Keelhaul’s Triumphant Return To Obscurity". I for one can't wait to hear this album, and am kind of bummed out that I can't enjoy the online stream over at keelhaulstriumphantreturntoobscurity because I'm on the phone all day long (I post here while being kept 'on hold').

This new 2xLP will no doubt be another slab of fantastic stoner / sludge metal with a dirty Southern feel to it, even if the guys don't live anywhere close to the South - they have more in common with "Holy Terror Land" and have been spotted in bands such as Integrity and Ringworm to mention a few.

The official pre-order for this 2xLP which comes on black, white and translucent purple vinyl aren't up yet, but if you get in touch with Chel, he'll work his magic for you. For information on how that works, head over to chelvanin.com and figure it out. All orders placed before October 20 get $2 off the regular price of $20. If you order all 3 colours of the 2xLP it'll only set you back $50 and Chel might even throw in some mini Keelhaul binoculars, and there's a CD version that comes free with the 2xLP by the way.

PS: Chel has also some copies of the self-titled Xasthur LP, maybe you should get one of those while you're at it.

Switchblade - s/t

Sweden's Switchblade are back! I had no idea these guys were working on a new album, even more that it's already finished. For now, they're only taking CD pre-orders due 09/09/09 (nifty!), so if that's your thing, go for it. However, patient folks like us, will just wait for the LP version to surface, but in the meantime can already listen to the entire beast online on their site

These 3 new songs seem to mark the natural progression Switchblade have been making. Whilst at first more into the whole Isis/Neurosis/Amenra vibe, these guys gradually slowed down more & more, becoming much more doom, without forgetting the monumental build-ups and punishing vocals. I'll definitely keep you posted about a possible LP release - Trust No One are ususally always a few months later with the vinyl, but in the meantime, pre-order the CD from Trust No One
