What we have here is a documentary about the early punk days in the Windy City entitled "You Weren't There – A History Of Chicago Punk 1977-1984" which was released earlier this week, and is accompanied by a vinyl edition of the soundtrack. What we get on the movie are talks with the DJ's, musicians, promoters, artists, and fans who were pivotal in creating the Chicago Punk scene and rare performances by Articles of Faith, Mentally Ill, Negative Element, Tutu and the Pirates, Jeff Pezzati, Big Black, Rights of the Accused and Steve Bjorklund. The soundtrack has other illustrous punk outfits such as Buzzards, Toothpaste, Verboten and many others.
