They've already aptly been dubbed "The Phantoms Of Folk" in reference to that other indie supergroup, but what we have here is the collaboration between Jason Molina from Magnolia Electric Co. and Songs: Ohia and Will Johnson of Centromatic and South San Gabriel. Two heroes in my book, and judging by their first song on their myspace this debut album promises to deliver 14 tracks of dark, introspective folk-infused singer-songwriter music, which will most likely become my partner on late-night roadtrips.Order now from Secretely Canadian who are rapidly becoming one my "blind buy" labels. Speaking of which, I picked up the Volcano Choir "Unmap" LP last weekend, and it's beautiful!
