Fever Ray - If I Had A Heart Rmxs 12"

Here's the vinyl version of the Fuck Buttons remix of the "If I Had A Heart" track by Fever Ray. This has been floating on the net for a while, and now Rabid Records pressed it onto vinyl. On the B-side there's electro remix of the same track by Familjen. Get it from Booomkat

Tortoise - Beacons of Ancestorship Remixes Eye / Mark Ernestus 12"

Supposed to come out today, but not yet available to order online yet at Thrill Jockey is the follow up the release of their first new studio album in five years. Like many remix editions from the past, Tortoise now return with a two song remix 12" of songs from "Beacons of Ancestorship". Side A features none other than Eye from Boredoms doing a remix of the album's opening track "High Class Slim Came Floatin' In". Side AA features the legendary dub/version master Mark Ernestus of Basic Channel and Rhythm & Sound doing a Version of the track "Gigantes".

Pressed in an edition of 1,500 copies for the world and cut at 45rpm this 12" is sure to sell out instantly (as did the vinyl edition of Beacons).

The 12" is presented in a proper LP jacket and features black and white photography from Andrew Paynter. Andrew's photograhy was also featured on the Beacons of Ancestorship jacket and he was behind the incredible video for the song "Prepare Your Coffin".

So, I guess, all we can do is check Thrill Jockey daily for this 12" to surface.

No Age - Losing Feeling 12"

So, here's a new single by No Age. I never actually get around these 12"s, but since their last album "Nouns" was so amazing, I figured this could just be worth the while.

Sub Pop comments: "Losing Feeling is a new 4-song EP from our Southern Californian friends No Age. All four songs were written in the band’s practice space. “Genie” was even recorded there; the other three were recorded at Infrasonic Sound. All of it took place in Los Angeles. Losing Feeling will be available as a 12” vinyl EP and as magical, invisible, digital files, but not as a compact disc."

HISTORY OF HEX

Born and raised in the 80s, my first music purchase ever was Metallica's "Kill Em All". After that, Guns N Roses and Maiden followed, to become submerged in the booming hardcore scene and into the likes of Kindred, Biohazard, Congress, Snapcase, Boy Sets Fire, Liar, Culture, Morning Again, etcetera.
